Thanks for the tip on having incoming calls display as your Voice number, I accidentally changed that setting without thinking how it would affect my MyFaves settings.

This is really great. I dnt have Tmobile but I have verizon and implemented this same feature to it. Also google voice is really great because you send international sms's for free which I hope they do not remove or I have to use another provider. I love google for implementing many features into one. Thanks for this post.

So I have Verizon, I can call up to 10 phone numbers for free (same as T-mobile)….Do you think as you stated in your blog, that while having the google voice number in my faves, yet having the phone display the caller id will not count towards free calls? Thanks.

Unfortunately, this is apparently against the t-mobile myfaves user agreement. I’m not sure what the penalty for violating this would be. I guess that remains to be seen…

“*Your five numbers must be US domestic numbers and must not include 411, voicemail, toll-free, 900, calling card, and customers’ own numbers; and single numbers allowing access to 500 or more persons.”

Your GV number is both “your own number” and a number that theoretically gives you access to calling any number of people, i.e. “500 or more persons”

Bummer. Makes sense though.

You trade the ability for your caller ID to recognize who is calling, but if you turn on ‘Call presentation’ (on by default), Google Voice will announce who is calling.

Call from ‘Devin Reams’. Press 1 to accept, 2 to send to voicemail, 3 to listen in on the call, or 4 to record the call.
