Hi Devin,
I'm teaching a class on productivity and organization to field reps at Clif Bar, Inc;., and love your desk photo as an example of a well organized and functional home office. Would you be willing to share the image at www.flickr.com/photos/devdev/83925348/ with me? I will be grateful, and give you credit.

Thanks!

looks nice but is it functional?
looks like room to work is being sacrificed for decorations and cleanliness.

I must say it does look (and is) very organised, however, does it look all that great? I don't think so - and if you are always at a desk that you don't like the look of, the less chance you will be motivated to do any work.

I think you have done an exellent job of organising your desk to get the most out of it, but I think what you now should do is go down to IKEA and get something nice which will bring some real life into your workstation. I've looked through the workstation releated articles on your blog and have seen your pics on your Flickr accound, and I still think it needs a little something to give it that extra zest and to make it look yours.

Take this workstation picture here for example: http://yasrsly.com/pic3.jpg
Now as you can see, things aren't in a clutter and they are all organised - but not only that, but it looks awesome too. The way the red is in contrast with everything gives it a personal touch and gives you the sense that someone actually works here. There are also posters up on the wall to give some extra character to the room - which I think yours is lacking.

Now I'm not trying to say that I don't like your workstation or anything, because I'm not. I love your workstation and I wouldn't mind a workstation like yours. I'm just giving you a few tips on how, I think, you would be able to make your workstation area really awesome, good looking and just plain exiting to look at!
