Indeed, the always-on lifestyle doesn’t help. That’s how we get in the habit of checking email at the dinner table and on the weekend. Nobody needs that…

Thanks, Beverly. I think society at large is moving that way: we want job growth, medical care, etc. but who is to pay for it? I can’t imagine the underlying foundations are to change anytime soon… money still makes the world go ’round!

Barranquilla between Cartagena and Santa Marta although no less humid and hot than Cartagena and lacking a beach is worth a visit. As it is a lot bigger than Santa Marta there are more defined areas – if you stay in the North you should find everything is safe and secure. It is not as touristy and more like a real Colombian environment.
Glad you liked it there though.

I agree whole-heartedly. I work with traditional media houses and am my job is to work tirelessly to get them to recognize the importance of changing the business model to align with the new user thinking of “more for less”. Unfortunately, it’s been a long battle as most of the tenured executives side with the professor you recounted in your blog!
